To be a Erica first year, is to be a part of something incredible. Ericaners flourish academically, socially and culturally. They are constantly involved in activities on campus, with other residences and most importantly, participate within and represent their own house - Huis Erica. You're only a first year once (hopefully), and being an Ericaner is possibly one of the best ways to spend your first year! If you don't believe us, read a few experiences below....

"Being in Huis Erica has not only been a life-changing experience, but a remarkable one too. I felt the warm embrace of my seniors and fellow first-years from day one and this definitely made me feel at ease since I live so far (Johannesburg). I do not think I could ever replace the awesome experiences I have had with my sisters and friends in this amazing Pink Palace; and I am looking forward to creating even more memories!"

"I can honestly say that being in Erica has made such a difference to my first year of varsity. I only got in half way through the first semester and so I was able to experience life both in and out of res. I can honestly say that being in res has been the best thing for me. I really am so grateful to have had all the opportunities that Erica has provided and to have made the friends that I have (who have become the sisters I never had). Even though I can't believe I'm refleting on this year already, I am chuffed that I have only the best memories. Erica is certainly my home away from home, which is important when you live over a thousand kilometers away!"
"Ek onthou die eerste dag wat ek in Erica ingestap het , dit voel soos n ewigheid terug maar in werklikheid is dit net 12 maande gelede. Met opgewondenheid in my oe en bangheid in my hart het ek , ‘n meisie van Pretoria af met geen vriende of kennisse , in my nuwe huis ingestap. Min wetende dat hierdie pienkmure my hele lewe gaan verander en soveel goeie herhinneringe van lag , huil , vriendkap en familie sal bring. Erica is ‘n huis gevul met ongelooflike meisies en lewenslange vriendskappe. Dis n plek waar jy jouself vind en ander mense van verskillende kulture lief het met jou hele hart. Dis n plek van goeie herhinneringe , harde werk en onbeskryflike lekker tye. Dis die huis van karakter en gees, maar die belangrikste : dis ons huis."
